Dear Joe,

I had to take a minute to share some information with you. I enrolled in AFLAC as a practical matter to ward off homelessness should I become hospitalized, debilitated or in some sort of accident. As a “local” in Key West, times can get tough very quickly when your paychecks disappear. I was quite underwhelmed with the woman who did our AFLAC presentation here at Tropical Shell & Gift. I felt like a number and that she was quite over doing what appeared to be a presentation she had repeated too many times already. It was curt and quite disingenuous. She was annoyed at the lack of pens supplied to the room by our frugal yet wonderful employer.

Despite that, I did sign up for three policies which I felt I needed so that I did not become a burden to my family or require government assistance if I became sick.

Each and every pay period that I have looked at the deduction I was becoming more and more unhappy with having the coverage. One hundred dollars a month could buy gas and maybe cover the water bill, I kept telling myself.

Then you responded to my email regarding wellness benefits and all the above was quickly forgotten. I’ve developed a new found sense of respect for the policies and for your very attentive and caring customer service.

I hope I never have a claim, but after reading your testimonials, I feel I’m in very good hands and that the money invested is well and responsibly spent.

Dear Joe,

I am happy to say that I am successfully recuperating from surgery with the help of fine surgeons and your assistance to relieve my stress and provide extra care. In all the years I have carried insurance I never even considered adding any supplementary policy of any kind.  One was enough to pay for, to determine what was covered, to fill out paper work and to then argue about what codes were correct between the doctor, the insurance company and the hospital and to try to find that everyone in the process was in network.

My husband and I are at different work places.  We were both approached by Aflac at the same time to enroll.  He was ignoring it.  I, on the other hand,  kept being drawn to your promotional email and decided to call.  I printed out one page with one name and one number…how easy.  Finally, got around to it. And, to my surprise you answered.  No one to take a message and put me on the bottom of a pile, no one to sound like they had better things to do, no one trying to sell me a used car…I got the one and only true, honest Joe Evans.  You not only explained, without pushing, all the available benefits, but you also explained how we could combine things  to get the most for the best amount if my husband also invested in his plan.  This would not even be to your advantage; however, as I would come to know you were trying to watch out for us first.  My husband and I both used your advice and purchased what we thought we could afford.  I had no idea I would ever need to use this coverage.  That was about October of 2006.  In March of 2007, I needed unexpected surgery.  In the process of getting my primary insurance coverage clarified, which was a nightmare, I called you.  You weren’t hard to find, since you had been checking on us periodically anyway.  You immediately informed me of the calculated amount I would receive based on my policy, my husband’s policy, the type of surgery, the number of days in the hospital, and the time I would be absent from work.  That’s all I wanted from my primary, so I would know how much in debt I would be, but that is unheard of and you can’t reach a human being that cares or knows. 

I will be forever grateful for your taking us under your wing, or is that the Aflac duck wing (?), to research my husband’s policy and do all that needed to be done  for our benefits to reach us in a timely and efficient, correct manner.  You were amazing.  We had so little to do and you guided us all the way, double checking the amounts we were to expect and then calling to tell us when they would arrive and following up to confirm that we had received what we were due.  My husband is not fortunate enough to have his Aflac representative as caring, compassionate, and professional as you are.  In fact, I have not heard of anyone who has someone like you to be their liaison between Aflac and the clients.  Relatives, friends, and co-workers have visited during my 5 weeks of recovery and none of them can believe the attention and availability you afforded me.  I have spoken to many of your clients and have found that you are a hero to all of us.  You have made certain that we know as closely as possible what we would be receiving and we could then plan to apply it to our deductible or co-pays or use it for groceries, extra nursing or child care.  We would never have purchased Aflac coverage had it not been for the time you took to educate us and tailor a plan.  My husband has to this day not heard from his representative.  We, essentially, bought the trust we have in you as our benefit.  You are a true asset to Aflac and to your clients.  We now mention Aflac to everyone we know, because of you.  May all your hard work and dedication be returned to you many times over.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to let you know of the exemplary service I received from what I consider to be one of your most valuable representatives, Joe Evans, South Florida District Sales Coordinator. As an employee of Global Response (National Call Center), I have had a policy with your company for 4 years now. I have never had a claim, and I fear, have not yet sent in a wellness benefit due to lack of time or effort on my part. However when I had a bad injury, to my right knee, I needed your services for the first time. I had seen Joe in the hallways, at my place of work, during these many years, helping other employees, but had never had to utilize his expertise. Claim forms, this or that paperwork, he walked me through it with the greatest of ease. I had many questions, before, during, and after my surgery, and Joe took whatever time was needed to answer what I asked completely, and made a very uncomfortable time for me a lot easier. Just like in your commercials! I will try to do better with my wellness benefits this year, but would be remiss not to commend to your attention someone who represents your company so well.

I would first like to say that Joe Evans is one of the nicest, most professional individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting.

When I first approached him about assisting me in getting a health insurance policy for my daughter, I was a little hesitant.I thought he would have me doing most of  the “leg work” and tracking down of all of these insurance companies.  This was definitely not the case.

Joe was most helpful in advising me as to what insurance company would be able to give me the most “reasonable” insurance rates.

I had a problem arise and Joe even called me from out of town when he was on vacation.  Not many agents would do that.
